W przeddzień Uroczystości Świętych Apostołów Piotra i Pawła, w siedzibie Nuncjatury Apostolskiej w Polsce, odbyło się Święto Papieskie, związane z jedenastą rocznicą wyboru papieża Franciszka na Stolicę Apostolską. W swoim przemówieniu z tej okazji, Arcybiskup Antonio Guido Filipazzi, Nuncjusz Apostolski w Polsce, zaznaczył m.in., że Ojciec Święty przypomina nam o modlitwie i pracy na rzecz pokoju w obliczu bliskich i odległych dramatów wojny.

Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Friends,
Ekscelencje, Szanowni Państwo, Drodzy Przyjaciele,
I thank all of you who accepted our invitation to this reception to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the election of Pope Francis. To all of you I extend the warmest welcome, especially to the civil Authorities (beginning with H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs), to the Archbishops and Bishops from various parts of the country and to my dear colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps. The presence of each of you honours and rejoices us.

On the exact day of his election, 13 March last, there was a prayer for the Pope in the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw with the participation of the whole Episcopate of Poland. Today we are on the eve of the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul, a feast closely linked to the figure of the Pope, who is precisely the successor of the Apostle Peter as head of the universal Church. This is the reason for choosing this day.
Jesteśmy w przededniu święta Apostołów Piotra i Pawła, święta bardzo ściśle związanego z osobą Papieża, ponieważ jest on następcą Apostoła Piotra jako głowy Kościoła powszechnego. Oto powód wyboru tego dnia na nasze spotkanie.
And we are in the seat of the Apostolic Nunciature, which can be defined as the house of the Pope in Warsaw. Exactly 100 years ago this place was donated by the Polish Bishops to the Holy See as the seat of its Diplomatic Representation in Poland. So, at the end of 1924 my predecessor, Archbishop Lorenzo Lauri, moved into this new location. Since then, this building has witnessed the bright and dark moments of Poland’s history, even losing its diplomatic role during the Nazi occupation and the communist regime. Today, the twofold mission of the Apostolic Nuncio in Poland continues here: to represent the Pope both to the Church in Poland and to the civil authorities of this country. This is the reason for the choice of this place.
Dokładnie sto lat temu miejsce to zostało podarowane przez polskich biskupów Stolicy Apostolskiej jako siedziba jej przedstawicielstwa dyplomatycznego w Polsce.
Od tego czasu budynek ten był świadkiem jasnych i ciemnych momentów historii Polski. Stąd też wybór tego miejsca.
As we mark the anniversary of the election of the present Successor of the Apostle Peter, Pope Francis, we wish to express our most fervent wishes to the Holy Father, who always follows the life of the Church and society in this country with particular attention and almost every day reminds us to pray and work for peace in the face of the dramas of war, near and far.
Pragniemy złożyć najserdeczniejsze życzenia Ojcu Świętemu, który ze szczególną uwagą śledzi życie Kościoła i społeczeństwa w tym kraju i niemal każdego dnia przypomina nam o modlitwie i pracy na rzecz pokoju w obliczu bliskich i odległych dramatów wojny.
And how can we better express our good wishes than with a prayer, which is always the most effective wish? Therefore, we will listen to a short hymn in Latin, the 'Oremus pro Pontifice’, in which we ask God to keep the Pope, to give him strength, to bring him joy and to protect him from all dangers. We entrust our best wishes to Pope Francis to the song, performed by members of the Warsaw Archcathedral choir.
