CV of the Apostolic Nuncio

His Excellency Archbishop Antonio Guido FILIPAZZI

He was born in Melzo (Milan), Italy, on 8th October 1963.
He received his priestly ordination on 10th October 1987. Incardinated for the Diocese of Ventimiglia-San Remo.
After receiving a canon law Doctorate, he entered the Diplomatic Service of the Holy See on 1st July 1992.
He served in the Apostolic Nunciature in Sri Lanka, Austria, Germany, and in the Secretariat of State of the Holy See (in the Section for relations with States).
On 8th January 2011, he was appointed the Apostolic Nuncio and titular Archbishop of Sutri.
He received episcopal consecration on 5th February 2011.
On 23rd March 2011, was nominated Apostolic Nuncio in Indonesia.
On 26th April 2017, was nominated Apostolic Nuncio in Nigeria.
On 24th October 2017, was nominated Permanent Representative at Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS/CEDEAO).
On 8th August 2023 was nominated 74th Apostolic Nuncio in Poland.
Besides Italian, he also speaks French, English and German.
